Camp Revival

Today is 11/11/09, which means that Candy Claws‘ Online World Tour has reached the rain soaked streets of Seattle, Washington. From November through December Candy Claws will be posting exclusive content on blogs across the world in support of their release: “In the Dream of the Sea of Life”. As the record was recorded across the globe (Fort Collins, Italy & The Philippines) it seems entirely appropriate for these musical expeditionists to stay geographically fixed for the holiday season and let their content log miles for them; right? Before you watch Seattle’s exclusive video, please read the preface provided by Candy Claws:

“Here we are in Seattle! It feels so fast… This is the Online World Tour for our new album “In the Dream of the Sea Life.” Third song, Starry Fighter Kite, in order of the album. What a cold night to film, everyone froze, but we tried again. Maybe by now you will notice our method: this is what: two cameras, moving independently, then overlap the footage, no edits. Also, an audio recorder near Kay and Ryan, for the vocals and guitars mostly. Today we added Meghan on Fake Gourd Shaker. How many members will we end up with? This is the first song we wrote as Candy Claws. Is it still good? Again, here we have Marty and Mckenzie on cameras with cold hands. Thank you to them!

With In the Dream of the Sea Life only a month or two old, Candy Claws have another great release and they are giving this one away for FREE. Consisting of cover songs, christmas songs, a few videos (which preview some sounds they may use on an upcoming album titled Hidden Lands) and a few surprises, Glacier Prey may not be your soundtrack to summer as In the Dream of the Sea Life should be, but Candy Claws never disappoints. Candy Claws have created something that leaves the listener speechless.

“In the Dream of the Sea Life” by Candy Claws was recorded in Italy, Fort Collins, and the Philippines over the past two years. The album is a musical companion to Rachel Carson’s 1951 book, “The Sea Around Us.” The 10-song cd comes packaged in a full-color dvd case, complete with a 12-page art booklet, a sticker, and a handmade art print.
